WHAT ARE LIP FILLERS?

Lip fillers are dermal fillers injected to your lips to hydrate, enhance, shape or volumize the lips. The term "Dermal Fillers" is used to describe a sterile gel that is injected under the skin to provide volume, lift and/or contouring. Dermal fillers are usually cross-linked to give a more structural effect. Most dermal fillers are made of hyaluronic acid which is a naturally occurring sugar found in your own skin. This makes them safe to inject (as the body doesn't reject them) and reversible (with a product called hyaluronidase). A few contain calcium (HarmoniCaTM, RadiesseTM) or amino acids (JaluproTM) which work in a similar way to enhance collagen and elastin production.

02

DO LIP FILLERS HURT?

The lip fillers are pretty tolerable. Numbing cream is applied prior to injecting and the lip filler itself contains local anaesthetic to make it more comfortable for you.

03

HOW DO LIP FILLERS WORK?

Lip fillers are injected into the lips to shape, volumize and hydrate them while still maintaining a natural look. There are thin dermal fillers, which are suitable for rejuvenation of sensitive areas such as the lips. We work with some of the best brands of dermal filler including Juvederm and Intraline to bring you the best results.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING THE LIP FILLER TREATMENT?

When you arrive for your treatment at one our clinics in Redhill or Reigate, you will be checked in by one of our coordinators. You will be then be greeted by our friendly doctor and a complimentary consultation will be carried out to check the suitability of the lip fillers after discussing your personal goals and medical history. If other treatments are more suitable our clinician will let you know about them. You will also have a chance to ask any questions you may have. Once the consent forms are signed we will proceed to take some photographs for your medical records. Numbing cream will be applied about 20 minutes prior to treatment. Your skin will be then cleaned using a cleansing solution. Your skin may be marked with a non-permanent skin pencil and the filler injections will be given with a tiny needle.
